Our Bay Area friend Jacqueline invited us to her sweat-tastic event on Saturday. I arrived at her gym, Basecamp Fitness in Burlingame, with doughnuts in hand, ready to mingle. I assumed this would be a fun, low-key meet-and-greet. Jacqueline and her Basecamp Fitness friends had other thoughts—specifically thoughts of pushing us to our fitness limits in the best way. The event was over an hour of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts. We alternated between the stationary bikes and the floor: one minute on the bike, followed by one minute of a strength training workout. On we went, through push-ups, planks, squats, lunges, and the ever dreaded burpees. It was exhausting but incredibly rewarding!
At the end of the event, Jacqueline raffled off three packs of our doughnuts. One of the winners told me she’d heard a lot about them through her Weight Watchers community, so I was thrilled for her to get the chance to sample them.
The highlight of the event for me had to be meeting Jacqueline in person. She exudes positivity and joy. Check out her Instagram page for her Inspirational posts and to follow her weight loss journey. She’s down 350 pounds, and she is all about self-love. That’s a message we can get behind!
